Without a doubt, the fastest way to achieve your desires and goals is to find yourself a good coach.
Don't fall into the trap that most people make; they resist getting a coach because:
• they think they can do it on their own
• they consider it to be expensive and are reluctant to make that kind of investment
• results are not obvious in the way an exotic holiday or a new car parked on the driveway would be obvious
I thought this way for a long time, but if I could go back and do it again, I would have invested in a personal performance coach right at the start of my journey. Luckily for me, I cottoned on, and as a result, I have benefited considerably from having (and still have) several fantastic coaches and mentors.
A coach helps you focus on getting out of life what is important to you, even when you don’t know what that is yet!
Although some coaching skills may appear similar, a coach is not a counsellor or a therapist. Your coach will always focus on the future, unlike counsellors and therapists who tend to work with your past mistakes.
The sessions will follow the Vision | Empower | Action approach and will include the following:
• Raised awareness through powerful questioning techniques so that you can gain clarity on who you really are and what you truly desire.
• Assistance in creating practical step-by-step action plans to reach your goals.
• Provision of on-going support through any changes or obstacles you might encounter along the way.
• Enablement to continue using the tools, techniques and strategies to create sustainable change and success.
I am not:
• a therapist - they help their clients to explore their past to enable them to move forward.
• a counsellor - they listen to concerns and anxieties.
However, I am qualified to provide services as:
• a mentor - they share their own experiences and provide tips and guidance to the client.
• a consultant - they give the client clear, logical advice on how to proceed.
But I will only do so if requested by you and if I have asked your permission to do so.
“Mirror, mirror on the wall,
I'll always get up after I fall.
And whether I run, walk or have to crawl,
I'll set my goals and achieve them all.”
CHRIS BUTLER
