Over half way, or so we thought....

At the start of week 20 the site was in complete chaos. Everywhere seemed to be dug up or half started. Despite this you could see the new shape of the front elevation starting to appear.
In between all the building work, we are making good progress clearing the flower beds and moving over crowded plants to new homes. It is always a bit dodgy to do this when the weather is so dry, but despite them looking like they are dying, if you look really closely you can see new little buds starting to shoot. The edge bricks arrived, so once we have finished clearing the beds, the membrane can go down and these edging bricks can get laid. We still need to decide what will go on top of the membrane, but probably something coastal and heavy enough not to get blown around.
At last we see some internal walls starting to appear. Such a relief to see something going up instead of being torn down.
Week 20's Friday Night with the Binsters Menu was "anything goes". Most of the group went for a take away curry, but we decided to go with the Corn on the Cob from the Mexican menu, because we loved it so much and a Hart family favourite, Chilli Nacho's. I am ashamed to say that this huge portion was just for three of us and as the evidence show's, we pretty much demolished the lot!!
At last the holes are filled in and the chaos starts to subside at the start of week 21.
The sun was shining so I couldn't resist taking some snaps of the views, while Tim was watering the new hedge.
End of week 21 see's the Binster's meet outside for the first time since lockdown. The weather was beautiful so we all met at Tregils Beach and picnic'd on the sand dunes. We all kept to the social distancing rules, bought and ate our own picnics. It was absolutely wonderful. I also attempted my first gluten free muffins. Not that we are gluten free, but I thought they might be a little healthier. They looked amazing, but they smelt odd and tasted weird, sort of like a sweet omelette!! Definitely not a success and I certainly couldn't take them down to the builders, they would have downed tools.
Monday of Week 22, first job, need to get a safety wall up.. the drop is over 3 metres, was giving me nightmares.....
