So near the end, but still so far...

We are most definitely getting there now, lots of lovely changes are taking place and every day it looks more like our home. However, these last bits require many contractors to work together and as the saying goes "too many chefs", which means things tend to take much longer than you would normally expect.
The kitchen has been in a semi state of completion now since the beginning of January waiting for the quartz to be fitted and other items to arrive. Alex and his team from Everything Stone in Par did an amazing job of supplying and fitting the quartz. It has really transformed the kitchen and utility room. Once the quartz was in place Jack from Duchy Designs came back and built the extractor hood and did some more little jobs. We now have to wait for the Bamboo to arrive at the beginning of March to be able to finish the kitchen and utility completely.
The entrance hall tiles were the last of the flooring to go down. I am so please wit the herringbone, it looks so good. The stairs are a little more "work in progress", but they now have their render and skim and we just need the stair tiles to arrive from Italy to complete the picture.
We were so excited to see our wood burner re-installed that we popped down the the house over the weekend with some wood and lit it. We bought this fire when we first moved into The Dunlins at the end of 2018. It was definitely oversized for the lounge at the time, but we knew we were going to renovate and have a large kitchen/dining/family room and so purchased a fire that would be perfect for that open plan space. Kernow Fires who we bought the fire from were kind enough to un-install it, keep it in storage for us for the year it has taken to do the work and then come back and re-install just like it was brand new. I think you will agree, it's just perfect in this space. Obviously it will look better once we get rid of the building materials everywhere!
While we had the fire lit I took advantage of the warmth and took all the protective covering off the cooker, island and bar so I could give you a bit of a better peep.
The Bar, some would say the most important space in the house, is coming along nicely....
The back of the house, parking and patio areas are so, so close to being finished. Paul and the team are working their way forward, moving everything (rubbish, materials etc.) to the front of the house as they complete each of the sections. I am sure our neighbours opposite at the back are very please do have a tidier view and see that Porto Loo disappear.
The drop kerb was completed giving access to the new garages and parking area.

Landscaping has now moved around to the front of the house, what a difference this makes to the place starting to feel finished.
Work is still progressing inside. This is the Blade tiles that got held up in Italy and put everything back. They arrived at last which has meant we can get on and complete the En-suite to bed 3, or as we call it, Tasha's Room.
We have seen progress on our Master En-suite as well.
The big event of this last three weeks was seeing the container/cribb hut leave site..... I bet the neighbours were as pleased as we were to see it go. It certainly signals that the end is now very near.
