It's been a funny old week. Paul and Jim were super busy, but we really don't have much visually to share this week. That annoying bit of wall that was the last remaining bit of the garage and had the electric meter attached to it has gone at last. The garage is still the focus of Paul and Jim's attention, but while waiting for materials to arrive they have been getting rid of the walland starting to put in the steps that will take you from the back parking area to the back door.
Other little jobs got done, the back steps got finished. We are leaving the walls from the back parking area unbuilt for the foreseeable future because this is where materials, scaffolding etc. will be laid off and built from for the duration of the project..rol the amount of brown we have. Short lead time which is great, but still very expensive per square metre.
Rob from Contec came to see us on Tuesday with samples of stone and tiles and to give us some advice on how best to grass the top of the garage. This is the stone we like best, comes from a quarry in wales and unlike the stone from local quarries we can control the amount of brown we have. Short lead time which is great, but still very expensive per square metre.
As the patio at the back of the house is so large and the walls and house will be rendered and painted white, we think we will go for a large dark ish porcelien stone similar to the one shown here.
