Pink stuff, cranes, glass, underfloor heating and stone....

It's funny, I put off writing the blog because I really didn't think much had happened. Then I sit down to collect together the photo's and realise that 3 weeks have passed and I have dozen's of photos!!

The photo's really do tell the story so in an effort to get this blog up quickly and not to bore the pants off you all I will keep the narrative to a minimum.

After seeing the transformation the pink stuff had on the upstairs we were desperate to get started downstairs. The downstairs was a really mismatch of old walls and new block work, which made for a real eyesore.

But as you can see from these photo's above and below, once the render set and pink stuff started to go on the space is transformed.

Ben and his team from Cornwall Stone Masonary Ltd are back and transforming the front parking area and garage using Trebarwith Blue, with a little rustic thrown in to make our walls unique. Ben and his team work so hard in all weathers and their attention to detail, picking the perfect piece of stone every time shines through in the beauty of their finished stone work.

On the south facing wall we have also included two gorgeous "Bee Blocks" from Green & Blue in Perranporth. We plan to plant lavender across the top of the wall for the Bee's that come and make their homes in our Bee Houses. If you are looking for a really unique and wonderful present for someone special go check out Green & Blue's website. Not only are their products amazing, their customer service, presentation and delivery service is excellent.

In Mr H's opinion the garage had been neglected, so he was beyond excited when work started again. First came the floor, which Paul (aka Dave) our most favourite and cherished builder with incurable OCD spent hours (even in the dark) getting it so smooth it was literally shining by the time he had finished. It hardly had time to set and the walls were starting to go up.

And then the roof, which I am sure our neighbours think is a helipad!

While we had concrete on the go, the steps in the wall below were banished.

There is always much excitement when a crane arrives on site, particularly when it is lifting huge bits of glass. Why does it always rain when you have to do these activities. Good news is that it went without a hitch and within a few hours the glass was up and in place on the balcony.

If you can ignore the silver strip, unfinished cedar and and all the rubble its just perfect.

Lots of lovely deliveries. Can you believe that the rather bent looking package is a glass shower screen and amazingly it wasn't broke. All things that will give our home its personality.

All the en-suites are in various states of completeness and really starting to take shape now.

Bed 4 TV wall waiting to be skimmed and wardrobes fitted either side.

The Cedar is now all done and we are so pleased with it. Here are some photo's of it underway, will post some more once the lights are in place.

Internal doors arrived, Black Ash adorned with steel knurled handles.

Big excitement when the staircase arrived and even more once it was fitted.

Do you remember my initial mood board below? Pleased to say that our staircase vision is slowly coming together.

Probably the biggest excitement was when our brilliant Plumber, Lee from Woodhatch Plumbing worked miracles to get the delayed (you will remember from my last blog how devastated I was when I learnt it was delayed) underfloor heating components here earlier than expected, getting us back on track. Once everything was here it only took them 3 days to get the whole system in and pressure tested. We went for a brilliant system from Nu Heat that does not need to be screened, so you have no down time. Our tilers can start immediately all the board is down, which you can see from the pictures thanks to Paul and Abs, is nearly done.

I was worried about the size of the garage, but because our plot is so big it has balanced things out and now the house doesn't look like it is perched on top of a hill. It will also give us much more privacy from the road.

Hope you are enjoying seeing it all come together. We are very pleased and looking forward to January and being able to say we are moving back "this year".

That's it for now, until next time....

Have fun and stay safe X
